The Digest: Cork's Coffee Scene Keeps Growing

Priory Coffee Co continues its expansion across Cork, with the team having just opened their seventh store, with locations on North Main St, MacCurtain Street, Youghal, Fermoy, Mallow, Riverstick and the newest location in Crosshaven. The Crosshaven location has transformed a historic building that previously housed Hasset's Bakery.

And Guji Coffee has brought their signature pink aesthetic from the Marina Market to a new spot. Their newest location can be found at Paul Street Shopping Centre – check it out for a delicious selection of coffees, matchas, açaí bowls, and more. Huzzah!

Local Business Spotlight

Coach’s Fitness Centre

Not quite in the city (but not too far from Ballincollig), Coach’s Fitness Centre is a private, personal training gym run by Conor Cunningham. Every training session and nutrition plan is tailored to each individual no matter what their background. I’ve been training with Conor myself for the past year and can highly recommend it. Give him a shout if you’re looking to improve your physical fitness and/or diet.

Extra Craic: Citizens Information Celebrates 50 Years of Service

The lord mayor said that Citizens Information "has been a cornerstone of support for individuals and families across Cork for half a century". This milestone celebrates five decades of providing vital assistance to Cork residents, helping them navigate everything from housing rights to social welfare entitlements. The organization continues to be an essential resource for the community, offering free, confidential, and impartial information to all who need it.

Fun fact: I personally used Citizens Information to figure out the steps to getting my driving license. Check them out here.

Who we’re following

My personal favourite bar since Ziggy Rock’s closed down during the pandemic. Terrific for live rock music and the only bar I know of in Cork that has San Miguel on tap! They also do comedy shows on Wednesday
